It is great to be able to compete in a well-run prize money tournament right in the “neighborhood”. It is a great opportunity for the juniors to play against older college guys, for the college guys to get great practice outside of their college team settings, and for older guys like myself to be able to play the sport they love at a high level and without the hastle of emptying our wallet to go play a legit tournament many miles away. Friends of Newton Tennis has already done so much for the tennis community in just a few years and I know that this is just the beginning. "Just wanted to thank you for organizing last weekend’s tournament, as well as the singles tournament last August. I had a lot of fun playing! I rarely get a chance to play high level doubles tournaments, so it was a nice treat for me to play in one last weekend. It is always better when you win, but I would have had fun regardless. It’s also really nice for me to have local high level tournaments to compete in. Usually I have to travel pretty far to compete in high level tournaments, which gets expensive and tiring. I really appreciate your enthusiasm for New England tennis. Let me know if you organize anymore tournaments and I’ll be sure to play.
