We're excited to welcome you to the Garden City Doubles Championships at Newton South High School (140 Brandeis Rd, Newton, MA 02459) on Saturday, September 6, 2025.
This year’s tournament is held in tribute to Professor Isadore Singer — MIT mathematician and lifelong tennis enthusiast.
Start Times & Results
Play-in Prelim matches begin at 8:30 AM.
Main Draw matches have two possible start times: either 8:30 AM or 9:30 AM.
Check the draw/schedule to confirm your assigned start time by clicking black registration button to the right.
Live results and schedule updates will be posted throughout the day at UTR event page.
If you do not see your name in the main draw: you are playing in one of the eight Play-in Prelim matches (listed under the “Play-in Prelim Draw” tab directly below the Main Draw tab on the event page). The eight winners will advance into the main draw, and those not advancing will play in the consolation round. Every team is guaranteed at least two matches.
If you are in the main draw and see “TBD” for your opponent, that means you will be playing against a winner from the Play-in Prelim round.

Please arrive at the check-in booth at least 30 minutes before your match.
Level-based UTR Doubles Tournament for High-Performance Players
Tournament Details:
- Draw Size: Up to 36 teams (including play-in)
- Format Rounds 32, 16 and, 8
single 6-game pro set with a 7-point tiebreak at 6-all (aka College Rules)
- Format Semi-Finals
best two of out three no-add sets with 10-point super tiebreaker (time permitting)
- Format Finals
best two of out three no-add sets with 10-point super tiebreaker (time permitting)

Start Time: 8:30 AM sharp

Consolation Draw: Guaranteed for teams not advancing past the first round
